Tribute to Paul Newman 1/26/1925 - 9/26/2008



Best Known As: Blue-eyed star.

Paul Newman was one of the biggest movie stars of the 20th century. Newman was Oscar-nominated as best actor eight times. But he was given his first Oscar:an honorary Academy Award, for his distinguished body of work in 1985.

In 1986 he won the best actor Oscar for his role in "The Color of Money" (1986, co-starring Tom Cruise).

His hobbies: Paul Newman was a racing fan a and car driver. At the age of 70, he became the oldest driver to be part of a winning team in a major race:the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1995. Later in his career, he voiced the Hudson Hornet "Doc Hudson" in CARS movie.

He is the founder of Newman's Own, a food company of which all profits and royalties are donated to charity.As of 2006, these donations exceeded $200 million.
